Reinventing Journalism: Alan Rusbridger on the evolution of The Guardian

For this episode of Reporting the World, CNN Academy and Clinton Institute students interviewed Alan Rusbridger, to ask about his experience as editor-in-chief of a newspaper described as “the world’s leading liberal voice”.

Rusbridger reflects on the challenges of dealing with whistleblowers like Edward Snowden, the importance of an independent press and the impact of the internet on how we consume news. A deep-dive into the role of trust and the re-building of trustworthiness provides an insight into the responsibility of each individual to value journalism that seeks to spread truth, serve the public and hold power to account.
