UCD, Belfield, Dublin 4, Ireland | Director: Professor Liam Kennedy
The University is located approximately 3 miles on the south side of Dublin city centre.
Dublin is served by one airport - Dublin International Airport, on the city's North Side. Cheap airlines to Dublin include Aer Lingus and Ryanair, though many other airlines offer good deals to Dublin or some of the other airports in Ireland.
The easiest and quickest ways to get from Dublin airport to UCD is by Aircoach - this blue shuttle-bus picks passengers up from outside the arrivals terminal and stops at all major hotels en route from the airport to south of the city centre. It stops outside the Montrose Hotel, which is opposite the main gate to UCD on the Stillorgan Road and makes a number of stops at various hotels en route. This service departs Dublin airport every 10 minutes from 6am to 8pm and every 20 minutes from 8pm to 11pm. The Aircoach fare costs €8 single and €14 return.
A taxi from the airport to the city centre costs approximately €30 and a further €10/€15 from the city centre to UCD, Belfield. Taxi drivers may add extra charges for each passenger and for luggage.
There are usually an adequate number of taxis in operation in the city centre at any given time. It is possible to hail a taxi from the street but convenient taxi ranks are located outside Wynn's Hotel on Middle Abbey Street and opposite the Bank of Ireland on Dame Street.
Regular scheduled ferry serivces operate between the UK and Ireland. There are two ferry terminals in Dublin; Dublin Port is near the city centre and Dun Laoghaire is approximately two miles from UCD.
