“The UCD Clinton Institute provided me with a way to creatively examine the United States and its participation in world history, politics, economics, globalization and culture”Julieann Galloway MA Student 2007/08

“The UCD Clinton Iinstitute offers a wide range of fascinating inter disciplinary courses ranging from historical, political and literary studies too visual, race and media studies, dealing with both contemporary and historical themes in a unique and exceptional setting within University College Dublin.” – Geoffroy O’Connor MA Student 2007/08

The Clinton Institute offers graduate programmes -Diploma, MA and PhD – that introduce students to advanced study of the United States and its global relations.

The programmes afford opportunities to study the US across a range of disciplines – including history, literature, media and visual studies, politics and international relations – and to develop skills in analysis, critical thinking and primary research techniques. The programmes offer students a considerable degree of flexibility to map a course of study based upon their interests. They can select modules from a number of Schools as well as from the Institute, and work with core and affiliate faculty (including visiting scholars) in developing their theses.

Our graduate students are an essential and valued element of the Institute’s research culture; we encourage student participation in research projects, conferences and seminars and through the publication of scholarly work.
